Oral Sedation - This is a cost effective alternative to I.V. Sedation, yet highly effective
in controlling discomfort and anxiety. In an easy-to-swallow pill form, Oral Sedation is
typically used for routine procedures in our office.
It works safely.
You swallow a small pill prior to treatment. No needles are used.
Your vital signs are monitored throughout treatment.
Treatment normally requiring 6-8 visits can often be done in one visit.
People who have had difficulty getting numb in the past typically experience no problem in this relaxed state.
After you return home, you should feel refreshed and back to normal in several hours.
I.V. Sedation - If a maximum level of sedation is desired or needed, Dr. Rice is
Certified to provide I.V. Sedation. Also referred to as conscious sedation, this option normally
eliminates all sensation and memory of dental procedures.
Places you in conscious sedation through an intravenous drip.
Your vital signs are monitored throughout treatment.
You will have no memory of the procedure afterwards.
After treatment, you will return home to relax for the remainder of the day. Most can
resume normal activities within 24 hours.
